Also known as: Tinea corporis. A fugus that can cause Tinea corporis, more commonly known as ringworm. It invades the hair, skin, and sometimes nails. tinea corporis, is classically signaled by lesions which have active, erythematous (reddish) and spreading borders with central clearing. Tinea corporis can be present on any area of the body. The infection is usually limited to the stratum uppermost layer of the epidermis. Tinea corporis usually transmited from direct contact with infected animals, such as cats and dogs, infected humans or contaminated clothes and furniture.
